The pale lavender-blue flowers of Clematis 'Mrs Cholmondeley' will bring a touch of refinement to your garden in May and again in September if pruned immediately after first flowering. Hardy and easy to grow in the border or a deep container, this climber can reach a height and spread of 2.5m and boasts an RHS Award of Garden Merit.

It will thrive in moist well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil and in sun or partial shade. Apply a potassium-rich fertiliser in spring and mulch with organic matter. It should be pruned as a Group 2 clematis.
