If you thought 'Blue Lake' was impressive then Climbing French Bean 'Cobra' is just as good and one of the most reliable French beans around. A prolific cropper producing heavy yields of long, straight sweetly-flavoured beans from early June to mid October. Growing from a seedling to the top of the 180cm poles doesn't take long and is soon followed by pretty white flowers and delicious beans much earlier in the season than other varieties. So Cobra ticks all the boxes for the home grower that wants beans to freeze, on their plate and chutney with their cheese at xmas!

Sow on a window sill, in a greenhouse from Mar-April on the surface of a good seed compost, firm down and keep compost damp but not too wet. Transplant seedlings into 9cm.pots when a good root ball is established plant in your border at approx. 40-50cm apart after all danger of frost has passed.

If planting direct into soil outside, wait until after the last frosts and sow in final growing spot from mid May.

Average packet contents 70 seeds.

When planted out happiest in free-draining soil in sunny positions.
