The obvious physical benefits are clear to see – burning all those calories whilst mowing, digging and weeding - but never underestimate the positive mental health attributes to caring for plants, being amongst wildlife and generally the deep-seated connection with nature when working the soil with your hands. And gardening doesn’t have to mean a vast expanse of lawn, sweeping borders and allotments.
