- Detailed Specification
Hollyhock Chater's Mix could have been created for the cottage garden, the tall stems of large double flowers in whites, pinks, yellows and reds are at their best in April and May. They are often placed at the back of a border but are excellent dotted around for the vertical accent much loved by garden designers. They are also a favourite with bees and butterflies making them an ideal plant to introduce into the garden to attract pollinators.
These hardy perennials are best when grown as binennials and reach a height of 90-100cm.
Sow Hollyhock Chater's Mix on a windowsill, in a propagator or greenhouse at approx 15-21°C through April to June for staggered flowering. Use good seed compost, and lightly cover with sieved compost, keep damp but not too wet, transplant seedlings, spacing them out to 50mm apart, when established plant out in the ground at a distance of 35-45 cm apart after all danger of frost has passed.
