Runner Bean Benchmaster produces tender, long beans despite the sometimes inclement UK weather. Sometimes large runner beans can be a bit tough but not Benchmaster. Plenty of beans for eating, freezing and autumn chutneys.

The robust, British bred runner bean Best of All grows really well in the UK climate. Called Best of All because it produces pods of over 40cm in length, boasts an excellent flavour and has a long harvest period from July to October. Great to eat fresh, freezes well, excellent for the kitchen and wins prizes on exhibition bench. Its tall stem's soon twine around their canes which when covered with its bright red-flowers makes a decorative screen in the vegetable garden.

Sow on a window sill, in a greenhouse from April - mid June on the surface of a good seed compost, firm down and keep compost damp but not too wet. Transplant seedlings into 9cm.pots when a good root ball is established plant in your border at approx. 40-50cm apart after all danger of frost has passed.

If planting direct into soil outside, wait until after the last frosts and sow in final growing spot from mid May.

Average packet contents 45 seeds.

When planted out happiest in free-draining soil in sunny positions.
