Scirpus maritimus is a native reed which is ideal for large areas and will also tolerate maritime conditions. Amongst its desirable qualities are that it is excellent for stabilising large water margins, creating wild bird friendly habitat and its capsular brown seed heads remain through the winter.

Scirpus maritimus, a bulrush which will also tolerate seaside conditions of brash water and salt laden air. A native plant which when established can be planted up to 2 metres deep. Provides a good shelter for birds when planted in large areas. Its fine, upright green reeds produce attractive creamy beige flowers from July to August, maturing to capsular, brown seed heads ripen from Aug to September Suitable for natural ponds, streams and lakes.

Height 90-120 cm. Water Depth 0-30 cm over the crown.

Where applicable our products are delivered flat packed, direct to your home and are supplied with a comprehensive set of instructions to help you get started.
